Long overdue update...

Well since my sister has been bugging me about updating this, then here ya go..

About a month after we got married we moved out of the trailor we were at into a little cute apartment. Trust me, it's REALLY small (our king size bed goes from wall to wall in our room), but I couldn't be in that trailor anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm really grateful that our past landlords let us move in for a very cheap price, otherwise we wouldn't have had a place to live, but there wasn't a cooler on the trailor and we really couldn't afford to just have A/C units in every room. By March it was already starting to get hot in there (it was cooler outside) and we had 2 floor fans and one A/C unit in the living room. We were VERY uncomfortable and tried to make any excuse we could to not have to be there. And in that one month of having an A/C unit and fans on for ONLY the times we were home, which wasn't very often, our electric bill was $150! My heart dropped when I saw that. And it wasn't even the start of summer yet!! So as soon as I found out my Dad's friend's apartment was available we moved out as soon as we could. I guess we hurt feelings because our landlords were our friends but we had to do what we could afford. Tyrel needed a new vehicle because his family needed his passport really bad, and there was no way we could afford both. So we did what was right for US.. they can be mad all they want I really don't care. That was 4 months ago. Get over it. I just couldn't stand to be in that trailor with 90+ degree heat. Might as well live outside. Anyways, our apartment is way cheaper now, our electric bill has never been over $150, it has been WELL under. And we're happy. We may be struggling a little bit right now financially, but we're over all happy. I qualified for work study and Tyrel got a raise so we'll be just fine!

How are our pups doing?
Very well.
Lilly is still the same little brat as she's always been, and Bear is the peeing machine, but is the sweetest dog you'll ever see. I've never seen him snap at anyone or anything. Jessie, is the biggest spoiled brat dog that gets anything she wants because she the smallest and youngest, but we sure do love her. She's very sensitive so you have to be careful what you say and how you look at her ;) The only worry we have is she's not growing. She almost 8 months and she's still only a little bit bigger than her best friend Keely (Syl's Chihuaha). We're afraid she may not be able to breed which was the only reason we got her for. But we'll just have to wait it out.

I'm so happy to be an Aunt! It the greatest blessing getting to be able to hold her when we get a chance. I feel bad that I'm not around as much as I want to be because we live so far apart. But when I do see her I love it. She's already 4 months old and getting so big!! I can't wait til she gets old enough to recognize who every one is. She's so fun.

There's not much else that's really going on. We're planning on a vacation in a couple weeks to Cali, and I'm getting ready for school to start again. This summer went by super fast and I don't want it to end. It feels like the fun just began! Tyrel and I are both on a co ed softball team and it's really fun! I'm surprised I even enjoy it or even play because the last time I played softball I was in like 2nd grade. But I love getting out and being active like that! Reminds me of high school sports.. :(

Well, it finally happened. We're married! The day came so quickly and it flew by. It was a fantastic day, minus the billion mph winds! That frustrated me to no end! But it was still a very special day. I love Tyrel so much and am so happy he is my eternal companion. 

Being able to be married in the temple is a dream come true. While we were inside I had so many emotions come upon me. I was crying most of the time because of how strong the spirit was and for the fact that this was really happening. But I wouldn't change it for anything.

I still can't believe I'm married. It's weird not coming home anymore and sleeping alone. Instead, I sleep with my best friend and 3 dogs. Haha. But I love it. I'm still getting use to having to cook and take care of most the things around the house but Tyrel helps me. He's so awesome. I just LOVE MY HUSBAND!


On another note...

I'm an AUNT! Sylvia finally had baby Tatum this morning at 6:11 am. She was 6 lbs 14 oz and 20 inches long! I can't wait to see her this weekend. I've been waiting for this day since she got married a year and 1/2 ago. Haha. ;)

Call me C.R.A.Z.Y!

Lately.. I've been very busy. I was either at work, at school, or doing homework. I had no time to do anything I wanted. And when I wasn't working or at school, Tyrel was at work. So we hardly saw each other. But times have changed!! Tyrel got a new job and John Deere. He works 8 to 5 Mon- Fri and 7-12 every other Sat. I'm so proud of what he's accomplished. He's trying so hard to support our new family coming in exactly 3 weeks from today!

The wedding is coming along.. slowly it seems. Time is flying but yet, it seems like it will never get here. I've been so stressed over it and school lately that I took probably the biggest risk I've ever taken.....

I quit my job.

Yes, it's true. I'm so nuts. But I couldn't handle working there anymore. I wasn't happy, everyone kept trying to get me and the people that worked in my department in trouble (they even made up a complete LIE about me and proceeded to tell my Managers).. ha that was a fun one. Plus, they decided they didn't want to work with me on my school schedule and were pretty much mad that I even said anything about it. So that was the last straw for me. So basically Tyrel is our only hope in surviving financially in our upcoming marriage. Haha. NO PRESSURE! Jk. He's doing great so far, and I am going to be looking for other jobs after the wedding is over. It's just too much for me!

We got a house.

We're renting a house from some friends of ours. It's not a great house but it's decent and a good starter home... and CHEAP. That's the big thing. We'll be fixing up some stuff while we'll live there so it won't be bad at all.

Biggest thing we decided on..

We got ANOTHER dog. HA. Yep! I'm officially INSANE! I can't believe I agreed on another puppy but who can resist a puppy face. Plus, we'll be breeding her to Bear when she's ready so it will bring in some future MULAHHH! Haha. She is the most precious and adorable thing ever and I am glad we got her :). She was bought from an older couple back in Kansas. I know, that's far away. She flew in on Wed. morning. We found out about her online and I was terrified it was a scam. (This dog costed about 4 months worth of car payments for me) haha. Luckily, it wasn't! Her name is Jessie and she is the sweetest thing! Of course, we can't let her puppiness get the best of the other two dogs. We've been trying to still pay lots of attention to Lilly and Bear so they won't get so jealous :).

Engagements

We took our engagements about a week after we got engaged. Haha. We just didn't want to wait until it was too cold because we wanted some of them to be on the mountain where he proposed. The trees on the mountain were beautiful as well and our pictures turned out pretty good! They were taken by my sister, Sylvia. She's just beginning her portfolio and she's doing really well! It's Official

March 9, 2012, Tyrel and I will be married for time and all eternity in the Gila Valley Arizona Temple. Our reception will be the next day so our actual ceremony will be in the evening of March 9th. I'm so excited. I love him to death!! We've already had a lot of people tell us we're too young, and I know we're young but we're ready for this new journey. We've been together for almost 2 years (Plus known been friends before that) and I know he's the one for me. We fight sometimes (mainly over money...duh) but everyone will always have fights. It's part of having a healthy relationship. Whoever has a relationship with someone and never fights is CRAZY! I think we're just fighting because we're realizing that it's coming quick and we're already beginning to stress over it (hint...MEEEE!). It's going to be a long, hard journey for both of us, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. He knows how to make me smile constantly and is so sweet and treats me really good. I'm so lucky to have found my future husband so quickly. He's my best friend and I wouldn't trade anything for the world!

Stuck together for eternity

Delaney Joyce Norton is engaged to Tyrel Trent Mortensen. We will be married in March 2012. (Not sure of date yet).
Here's the story...
During my birthday weekend, we decided to go to the mountain on Saturday Nov. 12, the day before my birthday (Nov. 13) because Tyrel had to work the next day. While we were on the mountain we went up right before the turn to the other side and we decided to go on a hike and it was FREEEEZING! The hike was uphill and I'm SO out of shape that we had to stop a few times for me to rest. On one of my rest stops he said, "Well, I better just get this over with" and got down on one knee and pulled out a white box. I was a little confused. Then he simply says, "Will you marry me?" And I say, "Uhh, ya?" Then he opens the box and there sits the most beautiful and gorgeous RING POP ..... I was so mad haha. So we hike back down because I'm way too cold and drive down to Wet Canyon for lunch. We get out of the car and he says, "Come here, I wanna show you something." So we walk up towards the running creek and the AMAZING trees and he gets down on one knee again and pulls out a black box. He gives me the most beautiful speech about how much he loves me and wants to be with me for eternity. As my heart is pumping 100 mph he opens the black box and holds my gorgeous engagement ring. It's absolutely amazing. We were both teary eyed and now it's a done deal. I love that man. I know he would do anything for me and he'll take good care of me!

New Things

Growing up is so much fun! Haha. I am so very proud of my Tyrel. He started his 1st job since high school a week ago. He works at Safford Schools now and he loves his job. He gets to work with his grandpa and I know he'll love spending time with him! He's working part time so he'll still have time to be with me :) It's just something for him to get by with until he can go to the Police Acadamy and become a cop. He gets to drive a school truck and he gets into all the Safford games for free ... he also gets to take one guest. ME! :) I'm so excited for him and he's happy to finally have a job and some money to spend! Haha. I love him so much. He's definately the greatest thing that happened to me! :) Congrats Tyrel. I'm proud of you!!

And for me.... I just got called today and I got hired onto Walmart! I know its Walmart but hey, its a job and I'll finally be making some mulahh!
