We took our engagements about a week after we got engaged. Haha. We just didn't want to wait until it was too cold because we wanted some of them to be on the mountain where he proposed. The trees on the mountain were beautiful as well and our pictures turned out pretty good! They were taken by my sister, Sylvia. She's just beginning her portfolio and she's doing really well! It's Official

March 9, 2012, Tyrel and I will be married for time and all eternity in the Gila Valley Arizona Temple. Our reception will be the next day so our actual ceremony will be in the evening of March 9th. I'm so excited. I love him to death!! We've already had a lot of people tell us we're too young, and I know we're young but we're ready for this new journey. We've been together for almost 2 years (Plus known been friends before that) and I know he's the one for me. We fight sometimes (mainly over money...duh) but everyone will always have fights. It's part of having a healthy relationship. Whoever has a relationship with someone and never fights is CRAZY! I think we're just fighting because we're realizing that it's coming quick and we're already beginning to stress over it (hint...MEEEE!). It's going to be a long, hard journey for both of us, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. He knows how to make me smile constantly and is so sweet and treats me really good. I'm so lucky to have found my future husband so quickly. He's my best friend and I wouldn't trade anything for the world!

Stuck together for eternity

Delaney Joyce Norton is engaged to Tyrel Trent Mortensen. We will be married in March 2012. (Not sure of date yet).
Here's the story...
During my birthday weekend, we decided to go to the mountain on Saturday Nov. 12, the day before my birthday (Nov. 13) because Tyrel had to work the next day. While we were on the mountain we went up right before the turn to the other side and we decided to go on a hike and it was FREEEEZING! The hike was uphill and I'm SO out of shape that we had to stop a few times for me to rest. On one of my rest stops he said, "Well, I better just get this over with" and got down on one knee and pulled out a white box. I was a little confused. Then he simply says, "Will you marry me?" And I say, "Uhh, ya?" Then he opens the box and there sits the most beautiful and gorgeous RING POP ..... I was so mad haha. So we hike back down because I'm way too cold and drive down to Wet Canyon for lunch. We get out of the car and he says, "Come here, I wanna show you something." So we walk up towards the running creek and the AMAZING trees and he gets down on one knee again and pulls out a black box. He gives me the most beautiful speech about how much he loves me and wants to be with me for eternity. As my heart is pumping 100 mph he opens the black box and holds my gorgeous engagement ring. It's absolutely amazing. We were both teary eyed and now it's a done deal. I love that man. I know he would do anything for me and he'll take good care of me!

New Things

Growing up is so much fun! Haha. I am so very proud of my Tyrel. He started his 1st job since high school a week ago. He works at Safford Schools now and he loves his job. He gets to work with his grandpa and I know he'll love spending time with him! He's working part time so he'll still have time to be with me :) It's just something for him to get by with until he can go to the Police Acadamy and become a cop. He gets to drive a school truck and he gets into all the Safford games for free ... he also gets to take one guest. ME! :) I'm so excited for him and he's happy to finally have a job and some money to spend! Haha. I love him so much. He's definately the greatest thing that happened to me! :) Congrats Tyrel. I'm proud of you!!

And for me.... I just got called today and I got hired onto Walmart! I know its Walmart but hey, its a job and I'll finally be making some mulahh!

San Diego, July 2011

My parents gave Tyrel and I the opportunity to go on a vacation with them to San Diego a couple weeks ago. Let me just say that we had a blast! It was such amazing weather there. We had a hard time adjusting back to this blazing heat in Arizona. Our hotel was really cheap, but if you saw where we stayed, you would think we paid big bucks for our room. It was such a nice hotel! We had valet service, bell boys, etc. It was super nice inside, also. Plus, it was about 5 minutes or less from the San Diego Temple! That was my favorite part I think. It was sooo beautiful! Anyways, our plans for the week was to go to Seaworld twice, tour the USS Midway Museum, rent a boat, and go to the beach. We left Pima at 6 am and arrived in San Diego around 3:30 or 4. We rested for about an hour then headed to Seaworld. That was such a neat place to see at night. We saw the dolphin show, Shamu show, got to ride a couple rides and saw the fireworks. Then next day we went to the USS Midway. THAT was an amazing place. I have always been really interested in history and wars and all that stuff so I was just amazed the whole time. It was really interesting to see what lives those navy people had to go live. We took TONS of pictures from that. After the Midway, we rented a boat at Mission bay and we had lots of fun. I even drove the boat! It was kind of hard haha. On Wednesday, we went back to Seaworld for half the day until we drove to Yuma for the night then head home. At Seaworld we saw the coolest shows! My favorite one was the "Pet Rules" show. It was sooo cool. Even trained CATS were in there! We also saw a SeaLions show. That was also really cool! We had such a great time in San Diego and we hope to go back there soon! It was tons and tons of fun!

Something NEW!

Growing up means that a lot of things are going to change. The first big change I've really experienced since Graduation is...DUN DUN DUN.... a NEW CAR! And I LOVE it! It's not brand new, but it's really new to me! :) Especially since the car I had been driving since I turned 16 was a 1999 Pontiac Grand AM. This car is 10 years newer! It's a 2009 Nissan Altima. It's really nice and I just love staring at it sometimes. Hahaha. It's the best decision I ever made. I am so glad I was able to get this car. It's going to be perfect! And Tyrel loves it too! We're taking it to Tucson next week on it's first long trip! Haha. I can't wait!

Recent events...

Well, it's been a LONG while since I've posted anything so I'll try to catch up on here. May was a really busy month, between finishing baseball, prom, getting through high school, we managed to take some time out and go on our dates. Our favorite place to go eat is Casa. It's the BEST mexican place EVER! Gosh, I love it! Haha. Anyways, prom was a blast! It was sad that all we really thought about was how it was our last but we still had tons of fun. I don't know where my camera went to I really don't have any pictures except the ones from graduation. Tyrel finally finished his last sport, baseball. I know he's going to miss playing but I'm sure he'll play a lot for fun in his spare time (he's already on a summer softball league and loves it!) That sport will always be in our lives. Graduation was definately the best day we've ever had. It was such a relief to finish high school and we both ended up with really good grades! I'm so proud of us!! We also got scholarships for college, I got an academic scholarship to EAC for two years and Tyrel got TWO donor scholarships, one for $200 from the Sheriff's Department (he's going into law enforcement) and one for $500 from the co-op. I was really excited for us cause these scholarships are going to really help us get through college. I'm going into Pharmacy and Tyrel is going to become a cop. Back to graduation, we had the best time! It was sad that we aren't going back to that school and we have to grow up but it's also really exciting to see what life brings us this next year. Hopefully I'll get a ring on my finger soon ;) just kidding. That's not going to happen for a while. We've already talked haha. On grad night, we got to be with our families right after it was over then we headed to the partayyy! We went to our friend Reba's house for a BBQ and the food was YUMMY! Then we headed to the movie theater and watched Pirates 3 for FREE! And after, we went to the cafeteria for breakfast and prizes. I won McDonald's certificates and a Casa certificate and Tyrel got a free haircut. I loved that night so much. It was so special to Tyrel and I and the best part was that we got to spend it together along with our closest friends.

This summer, we haven't found jobs yet! Hahahaha. We'll find them soon though. I'm hoping the places I've applied will contact me soon. And I'm sure Tyrel will find something also. Also, this last Friday I got my wisdom teeth out. OUCH! It sucks really bad I can't eat anything! Only soft foods for the next 3 weeks! And I had to miss July 4th BBQ food for the first time! I was SO ANGRY! Plus, my mom has made the best food this last weekend and I can't have any of it haha. Oh well, it's getting better. Our pups are doing great Lilly just turned 1 and Bear is getting so big! I couldn't imagine what we would have done without them. They always make us laugh! I just love them. Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I will keep up now. Haha yeah right! :)

Everything...

Well, as I watch Tyrel play the Wii I have decided it's time for another post. I know I know, I post way too much on here, but oh well. So here's a quick update. Tyrel and I are searching for jobs. And it sucks. I'm so tired of not having a job or having any money and being stuck at home all the time and having my parents bugging me about getting a job. It's getting annoying. SERIOUSLY! I'm trying the best I can and it's still not working out. Anyways, school is almost over. As in, I AM GRADUATING!! WOOOOHOOO!!!! Tyrel and I are so excited to graduate and be done with high school. We wanna grow up but it's also kind of scary. Soon we'll be out on our own with no parents telling us what to do. YIKES!! Haha. Our life together has been great. We love going to Cluff's (a lot!) and spending tons of time with Lilly and Bear. It's been awesome. I love my little cute family. HAHAHAHAHA. I still haven't posted any pictures of prom or anything like that. I'm such a slacker, and just plain lazy! Tyrel's little sister Tyelynn and I have become very close now. She's my little sister and my best friend :) I loveher! She's so sweet. She's really funny too. Welp, I'm too tired to write anymore so peace. <3

Today is such a special day...

Today is April 22, 2o11. Today Tyrel and I have been dating each other for 1 year and 4 months. A total of 15 months! It seems like its been forever but at the same time it seems like it went by so fast! In the past 14 months we've only been in two big fights, got two dogs, went through family problems with each other, got me a promise ring for christmas :) , went through our senior year together, and almost completed two dressers in woods, plus many more other things. I'm so grateful for him in my life and it's been a blessing to me to have him there at anytime I need him. He's never left my side and is always there to cheer me up when I'm having a bad day. I love having him around and we always have the best adventures together with each other and he always knows how to make me smile. The other day he told me that we're the coolest couple in town and we always know how to have fun in this small boring town. I love him so much, he's the best boyfriend ever! Thanks Tyrel for the best year and 4 months of my life! :)

Senior Trip!

Pretty much all I have to say is senior trip was freakin' amazing! Even though we only went to Phoenix and all of the classes before us had been able to go to California, it was totally worth it! Only about 15 of our 45+ class went so the ones who didn't go definately missed out. We left noon on Tuesday, came back about 12:30 am Saturday morning. On Tuesday we went to the mall and swam at the pool at our hotel (the pool really sucked and hotel sucked). On Wednesday, we went to the Renassiance Festival, and the Suns game. The festival was pretty interesting and fun but kind of got boring fast. The Suns game was FANTASTIC! I loved every minute of it! Fabulous experience!! On Thursday, we went to Jumpstreet, F1 Race Factory, and Laser Tag. It was all fun! At Jumpstreet, it's filled with tramps and really fun. But stupid me tried to do a back flip and landed on my face haha so I have a beautiful bruise and scratches that barely started heeling. At F1 Race Factory, we raced go carts around a track. It wasn't as fun as I thought but I'm still glad I did it. We were suppose to race twice but I only raced once. Therefore, I got a trophy for having the slowest time. Haha I was the "Top Turtle". Instead of racing, Tyrel and I went to the arcade and played this machine that gave you tickets no matter what and we used about $25+ dollars there. However, the first time I put I token in the machine I hit the jackpot and got about 500 tickets. So I was pretty excited about that. We ended up winning 1346 tickets and we got two big bouncy balls, a hacky sack, slinky, and candy. At Laser Tag, it was really cool to be able to shoot people. But I wasn't very good so I died a lot haha. But it was really fun. We played 4 games I think. On Friday, we went to Polar Ice and ice skated for a couple of hours. I have to say it was the best thing we had done so far and it was AMAZING! And to top it all off, Tyrel and I didn't fall ONCE! I was pretty proud of myself. I knew it was hard and I thought I was going to fall a lot but I didn't! Some of my other classmates did and it was hilarious cause they eventually got sick of it and went and sat down haha. After that, we went to the mall and Tyrel, Nicole and I shopped and bought stuff for ourselves. I bought Tyrel two shirts, and sunglasses and he bought his parents a knife and bath and body works stuff. For myself, I bought a shirt and a purse! The last thing on our agenda was to go to Castles and Coasters. Our little "group" was Tyrel, Pedro, Nicole and I. It was a blast. We raced, went on roller coasters, bumper boats, and mini golfed. On the water roller coaster, we went on 4 times and we all got soaked! Except for Tyrel. He NEVER got as wet as everyone else. TERD! Haha. Mini gold was really fun. I don't think we kept score right butI still won :). Once everyone was tired of being there, we left and went home. We got home around 12:30 - 1:00 am. Everyone was exhausted but we all had a great time. I loved being there and didn't really want to come home. But I knew I had to and I missed my parents and animals. When I got home I came home to a brand new bed! :) I'm in heaven everytime I lay down and it's so hard to get up in the mornings now. Thank you mom and dad. You're the best! Welp, that's all for right now. I know it took me forever to post this but I've been busy. Tyrel has had a lot of games and prom is this weekend. So I'll post pictures from prom and probably some of senior trip and Tyrel's games.

Lately...

Ok, so it's only been a few days since my last post but I really have nothing else to do right now before we go on our date. This week has been really good. Friday was our last day until spring break and we're leaving for senior trip on Tuesday! I'm super excited to finally get out of town for a little and still be with Tyrel. It's going to be so fun! Especially the Suns game and Castles and Coasters. That's what I'm really excited for! Yay! Haha. Anyways, the other day Tyrel's friend from Snowflake got in contact with Tyrel (Tyrel hasn't seen him since 3rd grade I think) so it was really cool to see how excited and happy Ty was to get to see him again and they went fishing. I didn't go and stayed home but I was really happy that Tyrel got to hang out with someone he hadn't seen in a long time. So it didn't bother me staying home at all. Uhm, in school, Tyrel and I are in the same woods class and working on our projects together. We're both building dressers but they're definately different! His is tall and mine is some-what short but mine is real long and HUGE! Tyrel only has 6 long drawers in his and I have 8 long drawers and 3 small ones. That's 11 drawers total!! I didn't realize how big I was making it until I compared it to other dressers in the room and mine is SO BIG! It's going to be a pain to move it to my room and there is no way I'm going to fill up all of those drawers with clothes. But, oh well. That thing is going to last me a long time so when I get married I'll use that for both of us. My dad built a dresser in high school and the dresser him and my mom use is the same one he built and that was like 30+ years ago. Haha. Well, overall my life is pretty good right now. The pups are doing great, Tyrel and I's relationship is excellent and just love being with each other. Just can't wait until Tuesday! I'll be sure to blog about our trip when we get back!

We love the outdoors!

I'm so happy spring is finally here and loving it! I can't wait until it gets warmer for us to go swimming. This last Saturday Tyrel and I decided it was time for another one of our adventures. So out to cluff ponds we go! Earlier that day we went to town and bought stuff for tin foil dinners (our favorite dinner ever!). Instead of getting hamburger meat we decided to get steak and it was definately the right choice! I don't think I want tin foil dinners with hamburger again! Steak is so yummy holy cow it was good (mostly cause Tyrel is the best cook). Haha. Anyways, Tyrel's little sister, Tyelynn and her friend, Keiryn wanted to go with their puppies also so our entire group was Tyrel, Me, Tyelynn, Keiryn, Lilly, Bear, Tyelynn's dog, Brody, and Keiryn's dog, Cody. Talk about a full car!! But it was super fun. The girls went swimming and they said it was freezing cold ha. Overall, we had a fantastic time and we plan on going as much as we can!

Pizza lovers!

WE LOVE PIZZA! But not just any pizza! TONI'S KITCHEN pizza! BEST pizza in town! Tyrel LOVES eating there. His favorite is the pepperoni with green chili and it's really good. Tonight my family, Tyrel and I ate there for dinner and it was delicious! My parents asked us to pick up our order and bring it home. When we got there it was super busy so the pizzas weren't done yet. We waited for FOREVER! The guy that took our money felt bad for us waiting so long so he gave us FREE sodas! :) He told us it would just be in a small cup on the house so we said sure! We both told him pepsi and when he gave them to us he gave us two X-Large sodas! It was awesome! Now I REALLY love eating there. Free stuff! Haha.

Not a good day

The past couple of days Tyrel hadn't been feeling too well. He'd been saying his throat was bothering him and was always super tired. Last night during American Idol he passed out on my couch for about 30 min. Poor guy! That night I had taken him home and came and got into bed and was coughing a lot. So I got up multiple times and gotten a drink of water then went back to bed. Since my throat was itching so much and I was coughing I just decided to go to the living room in the recliner and watch tv to fall asleep. I stayed up coughing until about 1 am so when it came time for school in the morning I was super tired and could barely speak. I stayed home. I texted Tyrel to tell him what was going on and he had stayed home from early hour weights and 1st hour. Since we were both not feeling too well we have just been relaxing all day and playing with the dogs. It was nice not to have to go to school but I hate not feeling well. Also, since Tyrel had missed two classes today he couldn't play in his baseball game today. Maybe tomorrow we'll both start feeling better.

Loving this warm weather!

Since the weather is finally warming up, we're taking advantage of it and taking our dogs to the park to play as much as we can! It's been so much fun seeing them play with each other. They have fun running around and chasing each other, mostly Bear chasing Lilly. Ha. Bear loves "investigating" everything Lilly does. Including when she's "busy". He just won't leave her alone but she's not getting mad anymore. She loves him and I'm happy!

Fun day at the park!

Today it was some-what nice enough to take the dogs to the park (minus the stupid wind). It was actually super fun! Lilly would just take laps around the grass and Bear would desperately chase Lil to try and catch up with her but since he's so much smaller than her he just whines and barks as he runs cause he can't run fast enough. Haha. It's so funny to watch and Lilly being Lilly she eggs it on and teases him and runs in circles around him making him dizzy! Haha. They're so funny. When Tyrel was thinking about keeping Bear I wasn't sure I would like it very much cause I was just so much more comfortable with just Lilly but now I'm glad he is and that we get to experience the fun puppy stage again and watch Bear grow up and learn new things! Dogs are amazing. So smart!

New Pup

Tyrel's family breeds miniature australlian shepards and they are so adorable! That's where we got Lilly and they had a new litter at Christmas time and so these pups are getting old and not being sold. They have two left and Tyrel has become attached to one of the them and determined to keep him. We decided if we keep him he'll be named Bear. SO cute! I just feel bad for Lil cause she's now starving for attention as Tyrel's time goes toward Bear. That's where I come in! Me and Lilly have become extremely close and she always gets so excited to see me (she use to only get excited to see me if Tyrel was with me). So, maybe this new dog won't be such a bad idea? ;) Also, the other dog is still here and Tyrel's dad is leaning towards keeping him as well. This means Lilly will probably have to come live with me because there isn't enough room for all these dogs. I just hope Lilly won't hate Tyrel for leaving her and hate Bear for being the reason. I guess only time will tell! :)

New to blogging!

Well, we decided that we should create this blog because everyone else was doing it. No, just kidding. We wanted to be able to write down our memories together somewhere so as we look back on here we can remember it all. I don't know how well this blogging thing is going to work out but we'll make the best of it!
